Dr. P S V Rao, CEO

Dr. P S V Rao has joined OPaL as CEO on June 29, 2011.

Dr. Rao has done his Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from Jawahar Lal Nehru Technical University in 1975 and completed his Masters in Hydrodynamics from IIT Madras in 1977.

Dr. Rao has obtained his Doctorate in Ocean Engineering from IIT Madras. Dr. Rao joined ONGC in 1984 as Superintendant Engineer (E04) where he was instrumental in establishing a research cum design institute for Offshore/Ocean Engineering (IEOT). Then he joined Engineering and Planning Division of E&C Mumbai. In 1989 he was transferred to Assam as Head Engineering services and posted at Silchar, Assam.

Later Dr. Rao became Head of Marine Energy Division Mumbai and thereafter was transferred to Baroda in Organization Transformation Project (OTP), where he was designated as GM (Projects) and looked after all major projects of Western Onshore fields. He came back to Engineering and Construction Division as Head Onshore Engineering at Mumbai.

Later he was designated as GM – Nhava Supply base and worked there for 3 years. As head of Offshore logistics he served in Mumbai after Nhava which was an elevation. Then he was transferred as GM – HR/ER at RJY Asset.

After getting promotion as Group General Manager he was designated as GGM – KRPL, subsidiary company at Hyderabad. After his stint at Hyderabad, he proceeded to NE as Head Engineering services - Assam Asset and later took over as ED – Agartala Asset. Then after 2 months he was transferred to Assam Asset as ED which is the biggest Onshore Asset and served there for 2 years. In the 2 years all records were broken by achieving all targets, Production, Drilling wells, unknown targets, logging and other roles which were not there since 24 years.

Mr. Shyama P Bandopadhyay, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Shyama P Bandopadhyay, our CFO is a highly accomplished professional with strong work ethic and dedication to success. He has more than 30 years of industry experience. Prior to OPaL, he was working with Haldia Petrochemicals Limited as Vice President & Head - Finance & Accounts. He has also worked with NTPC, SAIL, and SWIL in his previous engagements.

He is a Bachelor of Science and a Law Graduate. Besides, he is also a Fellow of the Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India (FICWA) and an Associate Member of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ACS). The company has gained much from the unique experiences of Mr. Bandopadhyay.

Mr. Deepak Singh, Head HR

Mr. Deepak Singh, Head HR is known for his sense of ownership and commitment. He is a self-motivated individual who is always ready to walk an extra mile for the larger good of the organization. Prior to joining OPaL, he was Sr. Vice President - Corporate HR for Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd. He has also worked with reputed organizations such as SAIL and ISPAT industries. He is an MBA from Maastricht School of Management, Netherlands. He has also done a Diploma in Training & Development from ISTD, PG Diploma in Social Work & Labour Welfare from IISWBM, Kolkata University and is an MA from Delhi University. His vision and motivation is sure to keep the OpaL flag flying high in the future.

Mr. Makarand Dixit, Head Marketing

Mr. Dixit joined OPaL in August 2008 and has more than 20 years of experience in petrochemicals business. He has worked and shouldered responsibility in petrochemicals business & is exposed to all facets of the business i.e. from getting finance for the project to the launching of polymers in the domestic and international markets.

His career started in 1989 in Oswal Petrochemicals before moving onto Reliance industries in 1990. He rose to become General Manager-Marketing in 2006. After which, he worked with Indorama's Nigerian acquisition "Eleme Petrochemicals" as a head of Marketing before taking up his current assignment in OPaL.

Mr Makarand is a postgraduate of Organic Chemistry from Pune University & has done his MBA from Symbiosis Institute of Business Management with Marketing as a specialization. His globetrotting past and ardent book reading has exposed him to various cultures which he beneficially uses in his work and daily life. An avid sports lover - his commitment to team and team work comes straight from the cricket fields as he has represented Maharashtra in Ranji Trophy for more than 5 years.
