Redefining Technology Prowess

At OPaL we are driven by delivering excellence at every step. We have set new benchmarks by incorporating the world’s best technologies i.e. Linde, INEOS, Mitsui and Lurgi, that are seamlessly integrated into one of Asia’s largest petrochemical complexes.

Dual Feed Cracker Unit (DFCU)

OPaL’s Dual Feed Cracker Unit (DFCU) is a technological marvel which works as the backbone of OPaL’s production facility. The DFCU is based on state-of-the-art technology by Linde AG Germany capable of cracking gaseous and liquid feed to produce 1100 KTPA of Ethylene and 400 KTPA of propylene. Also due to our distinct dual-Feed configuration of the Cracker complex, OPaL commands the flexibility to use different combinations of Gas and Naphtha and we thus derive better value creation as per the changing market dynamics. Further, such large capacities with world-class infrastructure have altered the polymer market dynamics by easing the supply positions and providing customers with quality product options.

Central Laboratory

The Central Lab ensures Quality control & Quality Assurance to meet the stringent specifications of customers. OPaL’s Central Lab, built over an area of 6200 sq. m. caters to the testing requirements of various process units, utilities and auxiliaries. Equipped with cutting-edge technology, the lab ensures testing of raw materials to finished products and meeting customer specifications with accurate, reliable and timely results. It performs testing of solid, liquid & gaseous samples for quality control and extends testing support for quality assurance of finished products from offsite and bagging warehouses.

Key Highlights
  • The Lab performs testing of solid, liquid and gaseous samples from DFCU, PP, HDPE, LLDPE, 1-Butene, Auxiliary units & utilities for quality control and support units for smooth functioning and troubleshooting.
  • The Lab is also extending its testing support for quality assurance of finished products from offsite and bagging warehouses.
  • The Lab is providing services round the clock in three shifts and the General shift.
  • The different testing facilities are installed in seven sections for proper segregation, to avoid cross-contamination and ease of testing.
